Community members have been invited to vote on the design of a tribute to the former Southern Arch in Manjimup.
The original structure was destroyed in 2013 after it was hit by a vehicle.
The designs are on display in the Community Information Office for the Town Centre Revitalisation project, which is where voting will take place until 4pm on Tuesday, February 28.
Council’s decision to not reinstate the Southern Arch was "a very difficult call to make", according to Shire President Wade DeCampo.
"Our hands have been tied due to several factors outside of our control, including major design and construction conditions imposed on any new Southern Arch which would require significant changes to be made to the existing Northern Timber Arch," he said.
"Both of the archways were community assets and we recognise their significance to the region, but compromising the still-standing Northern Arch in order to build a replica of sorts as the Southern Arch would have not been satisfactory – the decision essentially allowed us to maintain the existing Northern Arch in its original and authentic state.”
The Shire of Manjimup advertised for expressions of interest in November to design, fabricate and build a Manjimup town entry statement on the South Western Highway as a tribute to the Southern Arch.
"The idea is for an iconic structure to symbolise the Southern Arch and the opportunity to vote on this tribute is so that community members take part in that decision and feel a sense of pride and ownership of that new asset,”Cr DeCampo said.
Three shortlisted designs are on display of the seven received during the expressions of interest process.
The winning design will be announced after votes are counted next month.
