A nurse at a Donnybrook aged care facility has been recognised for her dedication and achievements.
Long-standing Tuia Lodge employee Katherine Irvine has received the 2016 St John of God Bunbury Hospital award for excellent clinical practice.
The award is issued by Edith Cowan University following validation by a panel of clinical supervisors.
Katherine joined Tuia lodge in August 2013 as a care worker while studying a Bachelor of Science (Nursing).
In 2016 she was acknowledged by the Tuia Lodge management for her outstanding clinical practice and was recruited as a registered nurse.
Katherine now leads the Wellbeing Clinics, which were established with the aim of offering care recipients enhanced access to comprehensive clinical reviews, providing more preventative care, reducing hospitalisation and reflecting a commitment to best practice.
“Katherine has exemplified the beliefs and values of Tuia Lodge; contributing to an environment of personalised care, giving respect for a person’s own beliefs, values, integrity and privacy,” Donnybrook-Balingup Shire CEO Ben Rose said.
“We thank Katherine for her dedication and commitment.”
