Donnybrook Football Club’s league side has placed sixth on the South West Football League ladder for the third consecutive year.
The squad got off to a rocky start against Busselton last month, trailing by four points at quarter time.
The Dons then gained momentum to lead 6.5.41 to 5.1.31 at half time.
The Magpies kicked three goals to one in the third quarter to trail by two points at the final change.
Despite Busselton’s efforts, the Dons held on to clinch a 8.15.63 to 10.2.62 win in round 14.
Donnybrook was looking to continue its winning form against Carey Park in round 15.
The Dons launched from opening bouncedown, slotting five unanswered goals before quarter time.
Carey Park’s improved form in the second half proved insufficient, with Donnybrook leading 6.6.42 to 2.6.18 at the main change.
The Dons took control, kicking six goals to two in the third term to lead by 51 points at three quarter time.
Donnybrook kicked another five goals in the fourth quarter to run out 17.11.113 to 8.10.58 winners.
Jacob Green kicked three goals while Sean Lynch, Stephen Beal, Brendan Page, Samual Lowrie and Todd Gregory kicked two goals each.
Donnybrook faced a mountainous challenge against then league leaders Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault in round 16.
The Dons, like in the previous round, ran out to a convincing lead by half time.
Despite HBL’s form improving in the second half, Donnybrook caused the biggest upset of the round with a 8.8.56 to 6.5.41 victory.
In the Dons’ second consecutive home game, the Collie Eagles’ six goals to one second quarter pushed the game out of Donnybrook’s reach.
Collie never let its guard down, running away with a 19.18.132 to 10.7.67 victory in round 17.
Round 18 saw Donnybrook lead Harvey Bulls by 13 at quarter time.
Harvey then slotted five goals to two to push ahead 8.3.51 to 7.4.46 at half time.
The Bulls kicked eight goals to one in the third to lead by 46 at the final change.
Harvey continued its run in the fourth, scoring four goals to one to deliver a 20.7.127 to 9.9.63 victory.
Donnybrook’s colts and reserves sides finished 10th on the ladder in their respective competitions.
