It’s one of Australia's most prestigious international outdoor motocross events and it’s back again in just a few short weeks.
The Manjimup 15,000 Motocross is still Australia’s largest motocross event, bringing in riders at an international, national and local level. The event will be held from Friday, June 2 until Sunday, June 4.
Described as the most iconic motocross track in the country, the renowned Cosy Creek circuit will play host to hundreds of riders across the three-day event.
Riders will be competing for a total prize pool of $22,000.
The motorcycling event, hosted by Dirt High Promotions, has already confirmed international AMA Supercross and South West Yamaha-sponsored rider Aj Catanzaro will be attending.
The Manjimup Motor Cycle Club, formally known as the Warren Motorcycle Club, was established in 1949 with the first club run taking place in October of that year at Five Mile Well, an isolated area just out of town.
After many encouraging successes, the club decided to hold a more prestigious event, and the inaugural Manjimup 15,000 was held in 1980.
Taking its name from the original value of prize money offered at the time – the richest motocross event ever held in Australia at the time.
The track is located on the corner of Cosy Creek Road and South West Highway in Manjimup.
Entries are still open for all categories. Competitors must have a current club membership and a race licence – either one day, or competition.
