A Collie resident charged with drug, stealing and trespassing offences has been fined $1500 in Collie Magistrates Court.
Jonathan Priest, 36, attended court and pleaded guilty to five charges on Wednesday, September 13.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Karl Rep told the court Priest stole $380 worth of items from the Hastie Waste facility in Donnybrook around 5pm on August 24, 2016.
He was caught on CCTV crawling under the perimeter fence.
In a separate incident, Priest was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police on June 3, 2017.
Officers found 0.2 grams of cannabis in his front, left pocket during a search.
On another occasion, police discovered a clip seal bag with trace amounts of cannabis on his possession on September 9.
The 26-year-old was also charged with breaching bail in August.
Magistrate Mark Millington advised Priest having to keep paying off fines while working was a bad situation to be in.
“Now that you’re working, I don’t want to set you up to fail,” Mr Millington said.
