Kirup Primary School recently celebrated 10 years of participating in the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Schools Program.
Over the past decade, teachers at the school have been educating students on the need to value, protect and conserve water resources.
Water Corporation South West Regional Manager Nicky Waite thanked Kirup Primary School for sharing the waterwise message.
“In our drying climate it’s important the next generation are aware of how precious water is and Kirup Primary School has been sharing this message for 10 years,” Ms Waite said.
Kirup Primary School assistant principal Jane McGrath said the Waterwise message has become embedded into the school’s teaching and learning program.
The Waterwise Schools Program has taken a long-term approach to water education and behavioural change and complemented the curriculum across all major learning areas.
