The Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup was delighted with the response to this year’s Photographic Competition, recently announcing the winners at a presentation at the Snack Shack in Donnybrook.
This year’s theme was ‘Splash of Colour’, encouraging budding photographers to capture images which told a story about the vibrancy of the region, its heritage, life on its farms and in its historic towns.
This year’s judges included Donnybrook Bendigo Bank senior customer service officer Jackie Buchanan, Preston Press editor and artist Carolyn Austin, Donnybrook District High School media teacher Len Strother and council member Anita Lindemann.
The overall winner of this year’s competition was Chris Neave with his photo titled ‘Autumn Colour’, taken at the Golden Valley Tree Park.
Second place went to Jan Kirkpatrick with her photo titled ‘Blue Wrens’, and third place was taken out by Georgina Steytler with ‘The Splendid Wren’.
The top 12 photos will be featured in the 2018 shire calendar.
