Donnybrook students have been able to access the best of facilities across town thanks to a new school bus.
Member for Collie-Preston Mick Murray MLA arranged for funding for the bus with a $50,000 Local Projects, Local Jobs grant.
The cash funding was made as an election promise to the town’s school and Mr Murray was pleased to see it had been delivered at long last.
Mr Murray visited the school earlier this month and greeted primary school students as they disembarked the bus for an art class at the high school campus.
“This school bus helps to ensure students from the local primary school have access to facilities at the high school such including the art room,” Mr Murray said.
“Having students regularly attending the local high school and forming a positive bond with the campus, also encourages them to carry on in town for their high school years, instead of moving to larger secondary schools in Bunbury.
“So that flow on effect for the town of Donnybrook is huge.”
