The battle continues to raise funds for research aimed at finding a solution for kids’ cancer, with a local Bridgetown family preparing to shave their heads to support the cause.
Samantha, Corbin and Kyle Baker, along with Tristan Loton, will cut or colour their hair to raise funds for the “Super kids, Super Heroes” fundraiser.
The event will honour Declan Kane, who passed away from cancer in May 2017 aged just 8-years-old.
The family have been growing their hair for many years, and the luscious locks from Tristan and Kyle will be used for wigs for kids struggling with cancer.
This will be the first hair cut for Kyle since he was a teenager.
“We have been a part of the Kane family’s lives for a long time and seen the challenges they had to deal with when Declan fell ill,” Ms Baker said.
“The Super Kids, Super Heroes campaign is fantastic, and we are happy to be able to continue to support this cause to show our love and respect to Kim, Simon and their family and to support research for kid’s cancer.”
Corbin Baker will also have his hair coloured green.
The head shave will occur at Pip’s Pottery on Sunday, May 6, with a ‘Soup, Song and Shave’ theme, commencing at 4.30pm.
There will also be a ‘Green Light Disco’ at the Bridgetown Greenbushes Shire hall on Friday May 4, 2018 to help raise funds.
The ‘May the Fourth be with you’ disco will cost $5 to get in.
