Community events in Donnybrook will soon have more venue options with a new outdoor function area to be built in the heart of town.
The Donnybrook Community Resource Centre has received $20,000 to improve the patio area for functions hire and outdoor activities.
The grant has come from the Collie-Preston electorate’s share of Local Projects, Local Jobs funding.
Member for Collie-Preston Mick Murray MLA recently met with staff from the centre and Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup to deliver a cheque.
“I am so pleased to award this funding to the Donnybrook Community Resource Centre,” Mr Murray said.
“This funding will be used to improve a patio area out the back of the building which will improve the amenity of the centre and its function hire potential.”
“In country towns, these building are multi-purpose hubs in the community so I’m looking forward to seeing this is a fantastic community resource available to anyone who wants to hire it out.”
“I wonder who will be the first to have a wedding ceremony there once it’s built.”
