Telling Tales in Balingup ready to entertain children of all ages

Balingup will come alive on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8 for this year’s ‘Telling Tales in Balingup’, a fabulous story telling event perfectly suited to children aged four to 14-years-old.

The event promises a weekend of story-telling, creative writing workshops, illustration workshops, book binding and kite making sessions during the school holidays.

Last year’s parade of much loved ‘book characters’ included the Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

A host of published WA authors and illustrators including Norman Jorgensen, Deb Fitzpatrick, Gabriel Evans, Eileen Forrestal, Josh Langley, and Cristy Burne will present interactive workshops throughout the weekend.

A number of indigenous artists and story tellers will join the line-up this year, with Beccy Garlett sure to capture the imagination and interest of kids big and small.

A number of sessions are on offer at any given time.

Balingup is renowned for its fabulous events and is sure to host a weekend worth attending.
