There were more than just award wins at Tuesday evening’s Hayward Medal Presentation in Bunbury, with the Donnybrook Football Club and Busselton Footy Club each receiving a $5,000 cheque as part of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Build Your Club initiative.
As well as being a major sponsor of the league, Dale Alcock Homes South West designed the program as a way to offer a $5,000 cash incentive to South West Football League clubs for every Dale Alcock Homes South West build by someone connected to the club.
The money can then be spent as deemed by the club.
Donnybrook and Busselton Football Club representatives were on-hand at the Hayward Presentation and received their respective cheques from Dale Alcock Homes South West general manager Steve Hancock.
“As we near the finale of another fantastic season of South West footy, we are thrilled to be able to partner with the South West Football League as we have done for a number of years now, and support our local clubs with the Build Your Club program,” Mr Hancock said.
“The skill, support and commitment each club demonstrates is a testament to the players, coaching staff, umpires, supporters and volunteers within the league, and we are pleased to know the funds will go towards providing much-needed additional facilities at clubs.”
Busselton Football Club treasurer Shontelle Bowman said the funds would be going towards the club’s women’s change rooms.
The Donnybrook Football Club’s $5,000 bonus will go towards the proposed upgraded Chris Sheehan Pavilion, with works set to be complete in 2019.
