Two early-childhood TAFE courses will be free and there will be 8000 university scholarships for prospective kindergarten teachers in a $27 million promise from Victorian Labor.
Premier Daniel Andrews on Wednesday pledged to expand Labor's free TAFE program to two early-childhood education and care courses if his government is re-elected this weekend.
Thousands of university scholarships will also be offered for people wanting to become kindergarten teachers.
The pledges underpin the first-term government's promised introduction of three-year-old kindergarten.
"We need the workforce that will be skilled to meet that demand," Mr Andrews told reporters while visiting the marginal electorate of Frankston on Wednesday.
"This will save students in the vicinity of $3000 to $10,000."
Mr Andrews also announced more than $67 million for the stage-two redevelopment of adult education facility, the Chisholm Institute, at Frankston.
Labor on Wednesday also promised money for sport, including $5.3 million towards stage two of the 'Home of Golf' project at Sandringham Golf Club and $2 million in grants for minor upgrades and equipment to golf clubs right around the state.
It's also promised to splash millions on community cricket.
