The South West Development Commission’s board recently welcomed the arrival of two new members.
The Rural, Regional, Remote Women’s Network of Western Australia chief executive officer Jackie Jarvis and Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes councillor Pat Scallan officially commenced their roles when they attended their first board meeting in November.
South West Development Commission chair Nick Belyea said the new board members were valuable additions to the team.
“I am very pleased that Jackie and Pat have joined the Board and I feel sure they will make a valuable contribution,” he said.
Ms Jarvis said South West residents enjoyed a lifestyle that was envied by others.
“I am looking forward to working with the South West Development Commission to see how we can diversify our local economy through innovation, attracting new industries and creating new knowledge-based job roles,” she said.
Mr Scallan said he has been involved in the South West for more than 30 years and is keen to contribute to the continued development of the region, particularly that relating to community, infrastructure, tourism and industry.
“The area is destined for substantial growth over the next decade and we need to ensure we can facilitate and support this growth for all in the South West,” he said.
