Bridgetown students celebrate 2019 International Women's Day

Year 10 girls from Bridgetown High School were guests of honour at the Blackwood Youth Action Group's International Women's Day Breakfast at the Greenbushes District Hall on March 8.

The event was organised by BYAG to provide inspiration for women in the local area while raising funds for youth projects and featured guest speakers from Talison Lithium and local singer songwriter Tracey Barnett.

Georgia Tassone, a trainee mine surveyor from Kirup and Asha Morris, a graduate metallurgist from Balingup are both young professional women working at Talison Lithium.

They were happy to share their career journey's with other women, particularly the young school students gathered at the Greenbushes event.

After the breakfast Ms Tassone and Ms Morris helped escort the Bridgetown High School students on a tour of the Greenbushes Mining Operations.
