*4th minute: NSW centre Tom Trbojevic bustles over the line, but is held up by four desperate Queensland players.
* 8th minute: Try to Tom Trbojevic. NSW launch the ball high into the air. Trbojevic soars over Kalyn Ponga to regain and score the opening try. Nathan Cleary converts to make it 6-0.
* 17th minute: Penalty try to Queensland. Blues centre Jack Wighton moves off his line to take out Will Chambers. Referees deem Wighton's block prevented Chambers grounding in time. The conversion locks up the score at 6-6.
* 23rd minute: Try to NSW's Tyson Frizell. Frizell almost drops the pass from James Maloney but is able to hold on and crash over. The conversion makes it 12-6 to NSW.
* 25th minute: Driving rain hits Optus Stadium. NSW five-eighth Maloney puts Queensland on the back foot with a 40-20.
* 32nd minute: NSW blow a try after Maloney's long pass to Josh Addo-Carr is ruled forward.
* 35th minute: Try to NSW's Tom Trbojevic. James Tedesco opens up Queensland's defence, slipping through a gap and passes to Trbojevic who strolls over for his second. The conversion makes it 18-6 to NSW.

* Blues halfback Nathan Cleary fails to reappear after halftime because of ankle injury.
* 45th minute: Maloney nails a penalty for NSW to make it 20-6.
* 46th minute: Brain fade by Queensland centre Michael Morgan to block Blake Ferguson off the ball. The penalty gives NSW good field position.
* 49th minute: Tempers threaten to boil over after Queensland's Jarrod Wallace crashes into Maloney just after he kicks. Players from both teams run in, but the situation soon cools down.
* 50th minute: Another successful penalty goal by Maloney makes it 22-6.
* 54th minute: Tom Trbojevic gets his hat-trick, but it Josh Addo-Carr deserves the kudos. Addo-Carr makes a break and fends off an opponent before offloading to Tedesco, who makes a break before unleashing Trbojevic. The conversion makes it 28-6.
* 58th minute: Try to Addo-Carr. The NSW winger dives on the ball to touch down from a perfectly weighted grubber from Wade Graham. The conversion is missed, but the score is still a daunting 32-6.
* 74th minute: Addo-Carr gets another try after a sweeping move from NSW, with the ball passing through several sets of hands. Maloney nails the conversion to make it 38-6.
