The Bridgetown Leisure Centre is excited to provide a new opportunity for locals' physical and mental wellbeing.
Personal fitness studio Health on Hampton is moving up the hill and up to the top of stairs at the leisure centre.
HOH is a private fitness studio that has been assisting locals to achieve their health and fitness goals, with current owner Melanie Taylor providing personal training and team fitness for the past six years.
The move up the hill is part of an expansion plan for the business, which Bridgetown- Greenbushes shire president Tony Pratico believes will benefit many within the community.
"I have been supportive of this move to the leisure centre since Mel Taylor first approached us and made the suggestion," he said.
"It is another service that we can now provide and add to the integrated aquatic and recreation facilities in Bridgetown."
The studio opened their doors in the leisure centre on Monday, July 15, and Ms Taylor is looking forward to the transition from the smaller studio on Hampton Street to the larger facility at the centre.
"It was getting pretty cramped in the old studio, and now we have so much space, it is a little overwhelming, but it is refreshing and energising and we are all looking forward to being able to utilise the centre's facilities, including the swimming pool, in the summer months."
HOH offers individual and group classes aimed at helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve success in their health and fitness goals.
"Exercise is so important," Ms Taylor said.
"It has many benefits for the body and the brain and we now know that exercise stimulates chemicals that improve your mood and the parts of the brain responsible for memory and learning.
"We make exercise fun and it feels like we are part of a great big family, which really helps when you sometimes want to give up."
Since the HOH doors have opened, there has been a big increase in clientele using the leisure centre facilities.
Cr Pratico said the shire has planned to improve and expand the available services.
"We want to hear from community members about what they would like to see the shire provide to ensure the Bridgetown Leisure Centre can become bigger and better," he said.
"With Mel moving in upstairs, this is just the beginning of what can be done with these great facilities."
