The Department of Fire and Emergency Services have issued a smoke alert for the town of Balingup as firefighters work to extinguish a blaze at the Balingup Tavern.
Balingup Tavern breaks out in blaze
It's understood the fire broke out at the inn on Blackwood River Drive in the early hours of this morning.
Volunteers firefighters are at the scene and have obstructed Blackwood River Drive and Balingup-Nannup Road.
The smoke is expected to clear today, however DFES has advised locals to be extremely careful when driving in the area and watch for emergency services personnel.
