Opener Stefanie Daffara has become the casualty of the Hobart Hurricanes' poor weekend in Brisbane after being dropped for the trip to Burnie's West Park this weekend.
Daffara, one of just four Hurricanes from the weekend's matches that played in Burnie last summer, has managed just 14 runs across four innings this summer, with scores of zero and five against the Strikers and Heat at Allan Border Field.
She has been replaced by Launceston's Brooke Hepburn, the right arm medium bowler with more than 50 WBBL appearances to her name.
Daffara's omission will mean a restructure of the batting order, with Meg Phillips, another Northern product, a chance to come into the XI at the top of the order, a role she has had this summer in the 50-over game for Tasmania.
The matches will also see three former Thunder players (Nicola Carey, Belinda Vakarewa and Maisy Gibson) come up against their former side for the first time.
The Thunder have yet to release their squad for the matches, but have such talent as Alex Blackwell, Rachael Haynes, Rene Farrell, Naomi Stalenberg, Phoebe Litchfield, Pakistan's Nida Dar, South Africa's Shabnim Ismail and New Zealand's Rachel Priest on their books.
The Hurricanes have a 2-2 record and sit in fourth spot on the WBBL table, while the Thunder are second after winning three of their first four matches.
Saturday's match will be at 2pm, with Sunday's match to start at 11am.
Admission will be free.
