Greenbushes Farewell's Trevor
Greenbushes has bid a fond farewell recently to active local identity Trevor Riley who has relocated to Bunbury.
Mr Riley was the founding member of the Greenbushes Community Singers and a member of the Greenbushes Community Resource Centre committee.
As leader of the Community Singers Mr Riley wrote a song about Greenbushes which was performed at local events and by the School's choir at assemblies.
The choir also performed at events in Bridgetown and Balingup.
During his time in Greenbushes Mr Riley also investigated the history of Greenbushes and penned several articles for local newsletters about railway sidings and place and street names in the district.
The Greenbushes Community Resource Centre presented a Certificate of Appreciation and Honorary Life Membership to Mr Riley at a farewell get together to thank him for his commitment to the community.
Gathered for the farewell were members of Greenbushes Community Singers; Edna Fryer, Cynthia Matthysen, Trevor Riley, Terry Somerton, Heather Cusack, Margaret Candido, Lydia Perenzin, Joan Leeder and Leanne Green. The farewell was held at Stinton Gardens in Greenbushes.
