Tex Hoy could be given his chance on the wing for Newcastle with the NRL side set to be without Edrick Lee for an extended period with a suspected broken arm.
Lee was taken to hospital after injuring his left arm in his innocuous first hit up of Sunday's 14-12 win over Manly.
The Knights winger missed 10 weeks at the end of last season with the same injury, and would be expected to miss at least six games this time around.
Young gun Hoy shapes as the most likely option to replace Lee on the left wing, after filling the gap there in Sunday's win off the bench.
Gehamat Shibasaki could be another option to be recalled as part of a backline reshuffle, possibly pushing Enari Tuala onto the wing.
The Knights at least got some good news on their other injury concerns from Sunday.
Kalyn Ponga passed a late HIA to alleviate concerns over a concussion after an awkward fall following a contest to take a high ball.
Sione Mata'utia was also cleared of any serious concussion after copping a head knock when he collided with Cade Cust's elbow late in the first half.
Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien was also unconcerned by Mitchell Pearce's knee, which appeared to be troubling him at stages in the match.
The injury concerns only made the Knights' win more impressive, given they finished with just one man on their bench.
"There was some real grit there, defending our tryline for multiple sets," O'Brien said.
"Some of it was ugly, but we still found ways to stop tries.
"I didn't care if we had won. I just wanted us to be back to being gritty, tough and the resilient team that we set out to be at the start of the year."
It means the Knights have rebounded from both their losses this year with impressive wins the following weeks.
The win moved the Knights into the top four, but O'Brien knows the challenge for his men is to back the performances up week-on-week.
"We showed signs early in the year of a bit of guts and strength in defending our try line," O'Brien said.
"We did that tonight."
"It's clearly not set in stone for us yet We didn't have it last week and we didn't have it a couple of weeks before that.
"We're still learning about who we are and how we hold onto it as a group.
"We need to be gritty next week too."
