LAST year, nearly 5000 Black Dog riders hit the highways to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention across Australia.
The Black Dog Ride is coming to Nannup again on March 23 as part of the national one-dayer ride.
The South West ride involves riders getting on their motor bikes to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention.
Winston, the ride's mascot, will be putting in an appearance with the ride, hoping to break the record of 'most black dogs on motorbikes'.
There are 31 legs of the Black Dog Ride one-dayers in every state and territory across Australia this year.
The local ride begins in Bridgetown and takes in Manjimup, Pemberton and places in between before arriving in Nannup about 11am for morning tea.
The Nannup CWA has taken up the challenge of providing the food for the morning tea for up to 500 riders.
Once fed and watered, the riders head for Busselton to finish the ride with a barbecue.
Lifeline Australia is a beneficiary of the funds raised on the Black Dog Ride One-Dayer, helping to build the capacity of their vital suicide prevention programs throughout the nation.
Lifeline provides national services and campaigns that promote emotional wellbeing, encourage help seeking, and address suicide prevention and awareness in addition to providing vital access to crisis support, suicide prevention and mental health support services.
