The Leschenault Biosecurity Group (LBG) is seeking new members to serve on the committee of this community-based group consisting of local landholders and land managers.
Applications are invited from property owners in the Shires of Capel, Donnybrook-Balingup, Dardanup and the City of Bunbury.
Expertise in farming or pest management are not required but agricultural and environmental professionals are welcome to apply.
Failure to fill the positions will see the group forced to stop their efforts to coordinate management of pests in the South West region.
The voluntary role requires attendance at monthly meetings in Bunbury and other duties as required.
Those interested in being involved should contact LBG executive officer Chris Howe. Nominations will need to be received prior to the community presentation and annual general meeting on Thursday, August 24 at Hackersley Estate Winery in Ferguson Valley from 6pm.
There will be a range of presentations about local pest management including foxes, rabbits and cottonbush, and an opportunity to speak with industry professionals.
For more information phone Chris Howe on 9791 4773 or email exec.officer.lcbg@gmail.com.
