The Donnybrook Recreation Centre Christmas Roller Disco was a hit with kids young and old.
Everyone got into the swing of the night by celebrating Christmas and the end of the School year with costumes, decorations and Christmas Carols! Plenty of ‘pint sized’ Santa’s helpers, elves and reindeer roamed the roller disco floor in complete harmony.
To the delight of the big crowd, Santa arrived with a hearty Ho Ho Ho and a small gift for all of the children
DJ Dave played a great range of music with Christmas favourites worked into the popular mix.
There were just enough supervised ‘roller games’ on the night to keep even the most active kids entertained.
“The roller disco is one of the Centre’s longest running, and most successful programs,” explained Chief Executive Officer Ben Rose.
“It’s fabulous to see so many kids having fun at these popular events.
“Dave has been the man behind the roller disco tunes for 23 years. On behalf of the Centre and generations of local kids, I’d like to thank him for his dedicated service to Donnybrook Recreation Centre’s Roller Discos. We wish him well for his retirement.”
“Music has always been my thing”, explained Dave Lovett.
“I’ve enjoyed bringing fun into kids’ lives. Some of the kids who attended way back in the early 1990’s have returned in recent years with their toddlers.”
The roller discos run monthly on Friday nights at Donnybrook Recreation Centre for primary school aged kids and the whole family.
So if you missed out this time, keep an eye out for the date of the next event in February 2018.
