Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews rallied to fight a blaze at Greenbushes Timber Mill earlier this month.
Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and Bush Fire Brigade teams from Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Bunbury, Hester Brook, Catterick, Maranup, Wandillup and Greenbushes attended the scene from around 3.23pm on Friday, January 5.
Bunbury State Emergency Services personnel assisted in setting up lights and moving timber beams while fire crews fought the blaze.
The fire threatened to spill from the facility into nearby bushland, before firefighters brought it under control at 10.28pm.
Firefighters also used thermal imaging cameras to find hot spots in the area.
DFES revealed the cause of the fire was accidental, with sparks from a nearby furnace moving into the mill’s roof space.
The damage bill was estimated at approximately $150,000.
