Busselton travel writer Alistair McGuinness will be hitting the stage at this year's LiveLighter Busselton Fringe Festival with a brand new show of bite sized stories, snippets of music and a sprinkle of drama.
Mr McGuinness said he has always loved music, especially when he heard a song that took him back to a special time or place.
"Last year, my brother (Michael) passed away after a long battle with cancer," he said.
"He was the person that first got me into pop and rock music, especially meaningful lyrics. He was the inspiration behind this show."
Mr McGuinness will be donating 50 per cent of profits from the show to the Cancer Council, WA.
"I live in town and feel excited (and a little scared) to get up on stage in front of locals and visitors to share the soundtrack of my life," he said.
"Luckily, I have a few children helping me along at times, with a handful of fun scenes."
No stranger to the stage, Mr McGuinness performed at the Busselton Fringe a few years ago with a friend, to a sell-out crowd at the Court House for a Night of Adventure.
"It was great fun and this time I am going solo and instead of telling stories about global adventures, the onus is on memorable songs and the impact they make on us all," he said.
Mr McGuiness' show is called Soundtrack and will be performed at the Weld Theatre in Busselton from 7pm to 8pm on Friday, February 12, 2021.
Tickets to the event are available online from trybooking.com.
